About Us
Well City Fox Cities is part of a national movement to build healthier communities.
This innovative program was created in 1991 by the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA), a national non-profit organization and leading resource for health and wellness promotion.
To build healthier communities and earn the Well City designation, local businesses team up, pledging to earn Well Workplace designations within three years. Achieving the Well City designation is no small feat! It requires 20% of a community's working population to be employed by Well Workplace Award-winning companies/organizations.
Well City Fox Cities was accepted as a Well City project by WELCOA in May 2010. The process to achieve the Well City designation must be completed within three years, or in our case, by May 31, 2013.
Healthier Community
Based on calculations obtained from the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, 20% of our community’s working population is 29,376 people that must be employed by a designated Well Workplace by 2013.
